Decoding the MusicIP Cache File

Postby spicefly » Tue Jan 08, 2013 11:00 pm

Researching the structure of the MusicIP Cache file.

Is Linux and Windows Cache formats the same?
Linux genPUID seems to output a different cache version to the Linux GUI
No research done at all for Windows GUI or genPUID cache.
genPUID can generate the fingerprint so no requirement to impact Intellectual Property covered by copyright.
Maybe a refreshed GUI product could be written, data could be kept in a database format and then just exported as required to the legacy Cache file format which would be suitable for Linux and Windows. (Software platform designed to allow developers to easily create cross platform applications)

Majority of a cache decoded for a single music file in a Linux GUI cache.
Proof of concept Visual Basic .NET decoder partially written but there are various unknown areas of the cache still to be decoded.
